Professor Fan Xianqun is the chief ophthalmologist at the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He is the academician of the Chinese academy of Engineering, the distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education, the chair professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, member of the Chinese Academy of Medical Science, the member of the Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis (AOI), fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK), fellow Ad Hominem of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh (UK). He is currently the vice president of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, chancellor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, director of Shanghai key laboratory of Orbital Diseases and Ocular Tumor, the deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress. He concurrently serves as the vice chairman of the China Anti-Cancer Association, the former president of the Asia-Pacific Society of Ocular Oncology and Pathology (APSOOP), the president of the fifth Asia-Pacific Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (APSOPRS). He has won second prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award (twice), first prizes of the Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award (Thrice), the Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award, the first innovator award of Academy of Asia-Pacific Professors of Ophthalmology (AAPPO), and De Ocampo Lecture, the highest academic achievement award to Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO).

Dr. Santosh G. Honavar

Dr. Santosh G Honavar has completed his MBBS from the Bangalore Medical College (Best Graduate of the Bangalore University; 7 Gold Medals); Post-graduate training in Ophthalmology, followed by Senior Residency in Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at the R P Center for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi (Best Resident award); and Fellowship in Ocular Oncology at the Wills Eye Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, USA.
His previous experience includes Senior resident at AIIMS (1992-1995), faculty and Head of the Department, and later Associate Director at the LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad (1995-2013); Adjunct Professor at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Ohio State University Dept of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Santosh G Honavar focuses on tumors of the ocular surface, eyelid, eye, and orbit, and specifically retinoblastoma; eye plastic surgery and eye prosthesis.
Some of the major awards and honors to his credit include Pfizer National Award & Medallion, Col. Rangachari Gold Medal by the AIOS, Zeigler International Fellowship by the Orbis International, USA, Dr Siva Reddy International Award by the AIOS, Senior Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award by the Govt of India.
Dr. Michael Giblin

Dr Giblin’s sub-speciality ophthalmic interest is Ocular Oncology. In 1987 he became the first ophthalmic surgeon in Australia to complete formal fellowship training in the management of eye cancer and simulating conditions. He also spent one year in the Hamburg University Ophthalmology Department and worked as a locum consultant ophthalmic surgeon at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
